ummm, that is an old and completely debunked myth. Its been around for a long time. I am not going to look it up but I'm fairly sure that a black man did, in fact, sue to regain possession of his property, another human being. He won. My recollection is that it was well after slavery was occurring in this country. So, he was a black slave owner but he couldn't have been the first one.

Well we did just have a pretty black president. And minorities hold all sorts of elected offices and have access to good jobs. We aren’t perfect but I think we have come a long way.
