Stop bumping your guns (fingers) and start acting!!!

A lot of talk on gun control around here, but it is preaching to the choir at best. If you have not acted here is a easy way to do it!

SCI Members: Please Contact your U.S. Senators Immediately! Ask them to support S.2135 -- the "Fix NICS" Act
NICS or the National Instant Criminal Background Check System is in need of improvement. The NICS is used by Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) to instantly determine whether a prospective buyer is eligible to buy firearms. It is essential that federal and state agencies submit information about ineligible buyers to the NICS. The bipartisan "Fix NICS Act" will provide incentives to federal agencies and states to submit records to the NICS database and penalties for the agencies that fail to comply with NICS requirements.
The U.S. Senate could be voting on the Fix NICS Act, S.2135 as early as this week.
Use SCI's Action Center to contact your U.S. Senators immediately and ask them to support the Fix NICS Act.

Interesting, considering the NRA has been screaming the exact same thing for years.

I could get more behind it Cornyn wasn’t proposing to bribe states to do what they should already be doing.

There you go. Why should you have to bribe somebody to do their job.

What else is included in the bill? And why do we have to spend money to get states & agencies to do what we can/should legally compel them to do?

Not saying I don’t support the measure, but it seems it could be stronger and I wonder what sort of “pork” gets attached to it
