If it wasn't for the SCOTUS situation I'd say no it is not that fragile but.....

Sorry, but I just don't think the SCOTUS thing is either so cut and dried or entirely all it's cracked up to be. For starters, several of the Republican nominated Justices screw Conservatives and Constitutionalists on a regular basis. Some of our worst law precedent set by the Supreme Court was done so on the vote of a Republican nominee. Think Harry Blackmun in Roe v. Wade and John Roberts in the Obamacare case. For starters.

Secondly, this particular carrot has been dangled in front of Conservative voters since at least the last 30 years or so to try and get them to vote for some very bad GOP nominees, during which time we've had many Republican nominated justices make it through to be sitting justices. How did the country survive before that? No one has any clue how many justices a President Hillary would get the opportunity to nominate, beyond the replacement for Scalia. Maybe none. This is another reason I argued against Trump as nominee, because in addition to losing the Presidency, it also makes it a strong likelihood that the GOP will lose it's Senate Majority as well, and the Senate confirms SCOTUS nominees.

There were times in the 80's and 90's when there were 7 or even 8 Republican nominated Justices on the Supreme Court at one time. By that reckoning, if the Supreme Court is the end all and be all people make it out to be, shouldn't we currently be living in a Conservative, Constitutionalist Nirvana as a result of that heavenly time when the court was almost entirely Republican nominated justices?

In the end, I find I'm not able to get nearly as worked up about the Supreme Court as some are, especially since Republican President's over the past 30 years have nominated some real TURDS to the SCOTUS.

Or sending out a report that an opponent had dropped out of the race to improve your position? Poor Cruz, he's a victim in all of this and that bully Trump should be put in time-out...
