congress effectively stopped doing their job decades ago. the executive office has taken power from them because they are more worried about getting paid.

I think this has been handled perfectly by Ryan for a change. the more they demonstrate, the more petty they are seen. All they lack is chanting Mandella, mandella, mandella

I wish they would sit all year. The citizen is safer when new laws are not being created.

I found it on the nrastore website which is separate from the regular nra.org

I just did it and got the lifetime membership for $500 instead of $1,500.

What sad, is that there were republicans that supported that bill.

This compromise thing is complete and total HORSE&^%*.

If the republicans really were our representatives, their only response to these gun control bills would be "sorry, go hump an AIDS infected cactus."

Yep and they scream about the Republicans being the party of no.

                    Hypocrites.

I'd be all for keeping people on the watch list or no fly list from buying guns....IF there was some form of due process involved figure they can place you on said lists, but there isn't, so yeah, I'm with "The party of No".

So when does Texas pack up their toys and secede?

This is about control and disarming the populace. It should be obvious since this was clearly an attack based on Islamic extremism, yet our good friends on the left are busy defending Islam while demanding we incrementally surrender our rights in the name of public safety. Ladies and gentlemen, our country is broken and our "leaders" are corrupt. Does anyone here honestly feel represented by the federal government?Perhaps the time to seek self governance is approaching.

Please note, I'm not saying we should secede today or tomorrow. I'm simply saying this situation isn't getting any better and we are nearing the time when we are going to have to either strike out on our own or ride this wreck to the ground.

Where were the calls to ban pressure cookers after Boston?
Why did they not ban rental vans, fertilizer, and diesel fuel after OKC?

                          This was not about guns!

What other Rights do they want to take away? If people on the "No Fly List" are so dangerous they should be stripped of Civil Rights, why are they walking around?

I'd rather give it a go on our own.
