Opinion piece from a retired Army officer

Hard to believe that this guy is serious. He misses the point. He probably never walked through an enlisted barracks on a Saturday night in the 80's.

Whoa..........that is just bizarre. He is literally justifying gun control based on military guidelines. WE are in trouble. This guy served 40 years and does not understand the constitution, it amendments nor the Bill of rights that followed.

Why should I listen to that traitor? His oath meant nothing to him, so his word means nothing to me.

I carried a shortened 12 ga Rem 11 behind my front seat when I was at Ft. Benning in 1982. Took it to the Provost Marshall to turn it in when I got there. The Sgt behind the desk took one look at it, said "keep in your car our of sight and don't shoot anyone, sir". I did and never heard another thing about it during my stay out there.

I see that he was an artillery officer. Given my experience with artillery officers in VietNam I can conclude without a doubt he is a dunce. He would make a good candidate for one of Obama's staff officers.

Fortunately we had some great NCO lifers in the artillery that did a heck of a job putting the H.E.'s right where we needed them while the officers stayed down inside their bunker listening to the action and drinking Cutty Sark.

                              He should run for office.
