    Gun violence

I know the president likes to give shout outs against guns.
We cannot accept our level of gun violence as the new normal. We must take action to prevent this from happening again & again. #WearOrange

Most of the editorials I read today that mention gun violence and some politicians that are running for various offices almost never condemn the criminal or the act of criminal violence. They only condemn the specific tool used to commit the violence.

It irritates the heck out of me when they frame the narrative to ignore the criminal act.
    Anyone else bothered by this?

There are calls for more laws after every high profile shooting, in this case the murder/suicide at UCLA. I always want to ask "exactly what law not currently on the books could have prevent that shooting?" Aside from a total gun ban -which wouldn't work either - what law could be passed that would keep someone with evil intent from obtaining a firearm - either legally or illegally? In this case, the guy had no criminal record and passed a background check then killed a woman in Minnesota. He then violated numerous other laws while transporting the gun to California and used it to kill a professor.

Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country, and I hear they are working really well there.

the ones guilty of gun crimes are not being held to account for their crimes, it's the gun manufactures who are guilty; you know, putting all these guns out there for people to kill others with.
