While on the surface it's a great patriotic moment, does that not seem more than just a little contrived? Especially in an hour long speech where he basically restates the same thing he said the day before.
Maybe next time he'll start a rally with, "the network said I didn't have time to give Chris Kyle's widow these flowers. Well guess what..."
We all know Trump is used to deception. The recent admission where he pretends to be his own publicist confirms this.
Staged or not it does provide a moment of patriotism, but what's the Washington quote, from his farewell address? That we must "Guard against the postures of pretended patriotism."

Somebody should have asked the guy behind them to take off his cap.
One of my favorite things I did when working in stadium ops at Candlestick was to bellow-out before the NA was played and people were standing up,
"Gentlemen! Please remove your caps for the National Anthem". Then I would sing, loud and unfortunately slightly out of tune- but that's ok.
The guys I worked with would all look at me like saying 'it's time' and fans would come over to thank me later.
She is pretty.
