This affects more than just inexperienced kids at McDonalds..When a grown person can make more on welfare than is possible at a entry level job, you have what we have today.. A record amount on welfare..
I realize that there is much more to the "welfare" equation but $7.25 an hour plays a big part.
Should it be $15? No.
$7.25 is totally a unrealistic amount to pay an adult for an hour worth of work. I don't care how you spin it.

They think high school kids or retirees with nothing better to do are the only ones serving them quarter pounders with cheese from the dollar menu on their lunch break.

I think all laborers need to organize.
Get paid the most they can get.

If a business is not profitable it will fold.

So, if I pay into social security and hit retirement age or become disabled I should not receive any assistance? Ok.... go tell that to all the retires, disabled workers, and vets across America. And for your info when kids help me in my shop or around my property I pay them what they are worth not what the government says I should and it's quite a bit more than $7.25 an hour.. Why? Because I appreciate them and the work that they do.. They never hesitate to work for me again because they know I'm fair..
If I offered $7.25 an hour they would never show up. Can't blame them either.
