Unlike like others, I'm confident in defending my family in alternate ways than using a gun. Of course don't bring a knife to a gunfight, but if there were no guns...
Quit being so simple minded! There will always be guns.......

I'm old enough that the saying "I'd rather die on my feet as a free man than on my knees as a slave" doesn't scare me one iota.

And just the fact that you think you are so much more exposed to the way things are in other states really makes you look quiet pretentious. Not the first time either.

      ...yet there lies the rub.

WHO is LE & Military?? NOT blue helmets...you are saying significant local, state & federal LE will turn on their own if a lefty SCOTUS debunks the 2nd & most to all just shrug their shoulders & say 'bummer, let's roll'?? WE ARE THE LE & MILITARY!!

Nope, BIG division within...assets of arsenals are accessible & this is not so cut & dry to just small arms against big arms. From Generals on down to the regular ole local street patrol will be telling this so called 'lawful orders' as you say to stick it. I refuse to believe the vast majority of our volunteer force will turn on their own. But again, the thread has gone full blown stupid.

That is why several times in different threads I have brought up that you have to keep beating the anti-gunners at the ballot box.

Merely relying on stand your ground sounds like a losing proposition if a concerted effort starts to take away guns. It also means that in a Trump v. Clinton battle, voting for a third party or staying away from the polls makes a Clinton victory more likely. A Clinton victory makes gun confiscation more likely.

        In my opinion.

While at the moment it is unlawful to use the federal military on US soil it is not illegal to use National Guard.

There would certainly be resistance from many gun owners but AR 15s, and Glocks aren't a match for tanks and drone fired missiles.

Radar, infrared, and other technology will negate much of the real effectiveness of the more heavily trained civilians.

Red Dawn scenarios aside resistance wouldn't last more than a month if they mount a full on assault on gun owners.

You can throw your chest out and strut all you want, but if they start the poop... and if you resist.... you will die.

When you pick that gun up, tell your family goodby.
If the 2nd is ever repealed or martial law is declared for whatever reason, the federal govt will not go headlong into the fracus bayonets afixed.

The operations will work just as they are happening in california. It will be door to door family member reports family member, neighbor on neighbor, sheriff's dept or state police doing the heavy lifting. Keeping the locals out of the mix because Bob has to talk to Susie who is friends with his wife and Susie's husband just happens to be vocal about the happenings in Washington or the State capitol.

Hellfires will not be used, tanks will not patrol the streets. Its a shame that you hVe me blocked because i actually agree with you this time.

I live here and our republican line was stacked!!! And my mother and father in laws line was stacked up too. Both, not many people in the democrat line at all. We were in North Austin and in laws in South Austin.

I think you know what I'm talking about when I say a significant number of LEO and military agree with Hilary and the gun confiscation crowd that civilians shouldn't have firearms.

Even in Texas they walk among us... Individual "stand your ground" isn't going to work against organized assault. We have to keep defeating them at the polls and we need to be more vigilant about what is being taught to our kids both at school and on TV.

My grandson (9 years old) just told me that killing, even in war was a mortal sin and that anyone who killed was going to HELL for eternity... He went on to add that any fighting was also a sin and that it was wrong to defend his sister from a bully... This is being taught today... The sad part is I see some on here that probably agree with that...

Finally to those who think there would be a concerted effort to repel an assault on gun owners...

                Think about this...

Unlike Liberals the conservatives of today can't agree on what to eat for breakfast much less come together to defeat a gun grab.. It'll be individuals and a few friends in pockets of resistance... not a concentrated front.

There is no UNITED WE STAND in the conservative vocabulary...
