There is a lot of context missing from each quote. On January 29 of 2024, markets (Primarily weapons manufacturers) stocks were pumping and jumping after Hamas attacked Israel, and most of the gains were in those sectors. Of course Trump takes credit, that is what he does.

The comment in April 2025 is silly, but in Trump style. We all knew tariffs would do this, and that tweet is about as much ownership as Trump ever takes. The argument could be made the tariffs needed to be done because Biden had screwed up the market so much.

Expecting no volatility after Trump executes on the promises he made on the campaign trail is like believing Ukraine could ever defeat Russia. Or that Unicorns exist.
