I'm with you. I think he will eventually be found guilty. The media has latched onto this one and will use it as the next George Floyd type issue to keep racial divide and tensions high. It's what they are paid to do. However much we may hate the MSM, it isn't enough.

You’re right, I did make a poor assumption there. If it turns out this kid whipped out a kitchen knife, I’d have questions about his possession of the knife to start with.

I have an acquaintance who is a home builder--he took a fall and broke some bones and had no health insurance. He was taken to an Army hospital (trauma center) where he was surgically treated and his bill was near nothing as civilian patients fees are something like only enough to cover cost of meals, etc. He took his GoFundMe money and bought a new SUV. That really got some folks upset.

On WBAP this morning they said his parents "needed to rent a nicer house to hire security from the death threats"......I wouldn't worry about the gofund me it will be gone quick if not already, maybe an Escalade with some nice spinners......for the boy of course. Ok, I thought Go Fund Me wouldn't allow to be used for "criminal defense" but figured they made an "exception"......I didn't pay that much attention use Go Fund Me generically, no idea how many of those sites there are

Gonna depend on where the trial is and if they can keep the jury members hidden.

I get it, told wife if in Collin County he's toast but they are already screaming a change in location.....probably Houston or Dallas for a "friendlier" jury pool to the race card being more important than the evidence, not saying I have any real evidence only what I've heard and in theory real evidence could come contrary but doubt it. That being said I could still be an impartial juror and actually use the evidence to form decision, though they would never pick me, 61 yo white male, retired FD, served in USMC, redneck, etc.......like the thought of death penalty but not as long and expensive as it takes to carry out the punishment.

With the facts we have presently, the self defense claim seems thin. He was taken into custody fairly quickly and shows no evidence have received any sort of assault, on his face and head anyway, obviously there could be body shots not displayed.

there are reports of an altercation in a parking lot earlier. But the parties separated as I understand it. If he came back and re-initiated the dispute, that’s also not self defense.

im guessing their argument will be the decedent made racists remarks, but again words don’t elevate to self defense.

i highly doubt this rises to a George Floyd level of event. I think they are just trying to capitalize on coverage now to shape public opinion and create discourse, because that is what they do in most White on Black events.
