Had wife order new automatic chicken run door, it's a convenience but not a must have but old one's wearing out and it is from China, I think the rest of the countries will come to a quick agreement especially if they think there's a void to fill with China seemingly out.

Just a quick look and there is an automatic chicken door manufacturer in Texas and it's much higher quality and in hindsight would have ordered from them, Chinese one $120 Texas one $250 but much higher quality stainless and 6 volt battery and 120 V adapter available vs 4 AA chinese plastic one. Tariffs just made Texas door same price as cheap Chinese door but I would have bought the better anyway had I researched it, on my second chinese door so at break even. Ador is name for future reference in New Ulm, Texas (new one on me)

Hey thanks for posting this! We had a really nice auto door that was USA made that lasted for several years, but the PLC controller finally failed. It was made in the Midwest somewhere. I don't recall right now, but the company no longer builds them. I also bought a Chinese one. When it takes a dump, I'll reach out to the folks in New Ulm.

Yes I wish I had seen them before getting the chinese one, again.

We have the Run Chicken model which I think is made in the USA. Their base model is pretty affordable that just opens and closes sunup and sundown.

at least around Houston this is impacted far more heavily by deportations than tariffs. A friend from India, when asked about Indian restaurants, laughed and said in Houston’s it’s all cooked by Mexicans anyway.

This. Everything Icon is top notch and hard to distinguish from Snap-On. Literally direct copies at a fraction of the cost in most cases.

That sounds like China factory’s SOP for intellectual theft where they steal the exact plans because it’s being made by Chinese hands or they reverse engineer and make a copy

Meh. It will be fine. No sense in putting off the inevitable.

I do like reading that folks are sharing American Made brands though, that is fantastic.

I thought designs can be copied if a patent is expired. I know that's what they did with the stihl chainsaw clones.

Yes, some people have patent expiration dates on their calendars .....ready to hit the go button on that day.

Yep. Honda's GX110 engine was introduce in 1983. Everyone and their brother has been making them for almost 25 years.

Patents don't mean squat to the commie *******s. Everyone in the oil patch that has shifted their production to China has lost their IP to them. It's a requirement to do business there if you want to manufacture there, you gotta give 'em all the details... Next thing you know, BANG, you've got a new competitor or three! I've seen it personally in my own industry of high pressure valves (60KPSI and such)... Used to be, there were 3 manufacturers for this niche market in the US and one in Germany... Now the chinee commie *******s have flooded the market with cheap copies of our products. It's a sad deal, and I'm glad I don't have to worry about it any longer since I'm now retired.
