It seems us conservatives operate on a “what have you done lately” basis, while democrats live for what are you gonna do for me in the future. They keep hoping, while we keep measuring what they said against what they did. This is one reason I’m a pessimist about any politician. Any politician. (Look at what a goober Dubyah turned out to be. I voted for him twice, what other choice did I have ?)
