Technically the judge is probably correct.
But government spending needs to be analyzed, so jump through whatever hoops necessary to get the proper clearances.

A case has to be brought in federal court. Judges cannot simply decide that they don’t like a policy or law.

The judge in this case halted DOGE access temporarily in order to have a hearing. It is really not unusual for an injunction to be issued to stop an action until both sides can present their case to the judge.

The judge in this case scheduled a hearing for February 14.

When Biden announced his student loan forgiveness, several states sued and I believe two federal judges issued injunctions against Biden to shut it down until it goes through the lawsuit.

It’s a fair common legal tactic. It can be appealed to the circuit court and eventually to the Supreme Court.
