Talked to some troopers about hwy 377

Saw them at lunch and talked to them about how bad hwy 377 is up our way with crazy drivers..said spread thin but gonna change soon with freeing up at border and a new class coming out. Talking specifically 377 up our way near Texoma. Nice guys, said they fully understand and hopefully can give it some attention soon, Grayson county spread too thin and they agreed with me on that as well. When wife and I went to UT graduation last year for my daughter the whole hotel was DPS, I guess patrolling Austin too.......I could care less about speeders in left lane on Hwy 82 or I-35 it's the ones passing in no passing zones, tail gating, have had them pass me on the shoulder, you name it on our 2 lane FM's and Hwy's and there's so many cars they just get up right behind the next line and do the same......told them rock hauler passed me in the rain, I was pulling horse trailer, no passing zone and car came over hill I had to jam on brakes so he could get back over and this stuff happens every day you drive that road......I'm sure it's not just that road but for our area it's by far the worst ! Glad to know Trump border patrol getting to do their jobs will free up our troopers can keep the Game Wardens there......

Austin is the pits. Defunded their police and the governor had to order the DPS in. I have a friend who works there, primarily investigating sex trafficing. The stories he tells are heart-rending.

The conditions you describe could be anywhere. I swear there are more stupid, ignorant, or just plain careless drivers every day. Tailgaters are the ones that pizz me off the most, especially when I’m doing the speed limit.

I do that on occasion and thank them for their service. I live in a small county and if I catch our local police officer’s sheriff I always buy theirs. I don’t see them out allot but when I do I follow up as mentioned. now I am just talking regular type meals. Our electric coop when we have power outages etc I catch them I do the same. I have seen local people bitching at them because they are breaking for lunch. Our people in the coop from my experiences when it’s time to work they work. Again burgers etc not steaks.

I agree with you on this one Mr Don. My home is off a state highway 103 and long straight then breaks over a hill. There have been at least 8 fatalities since 2015 when I moved back out past my driveway in head ons these dumb azzes passing on a hill.

My drive way is on a hill to my SW, no passing of course. Since I have been living there I’ve had to hit the ditch three times from people trying to pass me as I’m slowing to turn into my driveway. One idiot was pulling a travel trailer and I was pulling my tractor on a 20’ trailer. I put my blinker on way ahead of time to let them know I’m turning. Only an idiot would try to pass under those conditions. He ran a woman off the road that was coming from the opposite direction and me right at my driveway. If I hadn’t been pulling a trailer I imagine I would have ran his azz down and corrected his driving habits. All that horse shat just because someone is in a hurry. Well, he should have started earlier ! I think driving like that is the ultimate act of selfishness, you first, no matter who it might hurt or kill. All these speeders think that they are the world’s greatest drivers but if they were, they would be on a track driving for $ !

I'm not catching 4 guys lunch even though it's half off or free since troopers always there, I'm retired FD they still have regular paycheck.
