Chinese Casino Operator Plans to Invade Texas

From my daily news feed from Texas Minute
    • China is widely considered the top long-term geopolitical threat to the United States, and the communist superpower frequently targets Texas. While some efforts have been made to restrict Beijing's actions in the Lone Star State, Daniel Greer explains how infiltration through corporate intrigue has been the most overlooked.
    • A top political giver in the 2024 election season has been a political action committee tied to the Sands casino empire. The company still trades on its past ownership of a Las Vegas casino despite now operating almost exclusively in China.
    • Sands divested from the U.S. market in 2022 and signed a 10-year concession agreement with the Chinese government to operate casinos in Macao.
    • Now, flush with cash generated with the approval of the Chinese Communist Party, Sands has been spending big to get a legislative monopoly to operate casinos in Texas.

Sounds like a somewhat skewed viewpoint to me. US market is saturated, I can't blame them for expanding to China. I agree the extent to which they are in bed with the Chinese gov could be a problem.

Ray Charles could see that a Casino in Texas will make money. Ignorant to give all the revenue to Louisiana and Mississippi. Maybe we can get Marijuana and beer before noon on Sunday also while they are making changes. Step out of 1940. but that's the libertarian in me. I see no reason to protect people from themselves.

Sounds like a prime opportunity for hte Dade Phelans of Texas to make some money and sell Texas out.

I am all for casinos in Texas, legalization, and beer 24 hours a day. Just not when the Chinese are doing it here.

I guess I’m neutral about casinos, don’t give them a second thought. Chinese money in the USA is a different story. IMO, they do not need to own land nor operate businesses here. They are our enemy, make no mistake about that. As far as beer 24/7, I don’t care, I don’t drink beer. Don’t smoke dope either, but people gonna get what they want some way or another.
