My youngest son has barely spoken to us this election cycle. He was a small child during the Reagan years, but he blames all the world's problems on Reagan, Trump, and my generation . He was loved and raised well as a child and I do not understand where he got his politics from. At 34, it's unlikely he'll outgrow this nonsense and his behavior is affecting the whole family. We have a new grandchild due, so we walk on eggshells around him and his new wife.

We have a couple of these in our midst and, like you, we have to walk on eggshells around them. My mother wants peace in the family so they’re allowed to make snide comments but the rest of us are not. Oh, well. I’ll do just about anything for my mother.

One of these family “outliers” disavowed herself from the family the first time Trump was elected telling us a vote for Trump was a vote against her way of life. I knew she was militant but was no less shocked that she took it to that extreme.

Didn’t give it much thought after that.

I blame legacy media & the propaganda...my mom was completely shocked of Biden's cognitive decline when he debated trump & still can't believe the trouncing of the election.

In her case it's ABC & Muir who have been hiding the truth & lie on a daily basis...if your sole source is legacy media, you are going to be a sheep.

Legacy media is now calling for SM to be controlled because they have created a bunch of zealots. 'Accuse the other side of which are guilty'

This is sad. IMO the only way to combat it is to try and have a calm talk. Have them create a list of all the horrible bad things they think Trump will do. Then in 4 years hopefully they will see a little light.

It is unfortunate OP. So many stories like these. I am hoping that some of these folks will start to come around in a year or two when they see that woman are not being rounded up and arrested for their reproductive choices, and that there were no blacks sent to pick cotton in the fields.

Most won't see it because they refuse to think ahead of time. It takes a little thought upfront. All they have is whatever the current media is throwing at them. No different than climate change people thinking we're all going to die - even though we never do.

I wasn't meaning to say you're wrong. Just that it's incredibly hard to get die hard libs to see the light. The only way though is the "thought up front" They won't see jack squat in 4 years unless they think now at least a little.

Sometimes you have to consider the “reaction” they or myself is trying to create is merely offending you so you keep your distance and we don’t have anything to do with each other. A non-confrontational confrontation. So family and neighbors that see my signs or shirt and stay away from me is my “victory”.

I think I’m okay with tampon machines in women’s restrooms. It don’t find them morally offensive unless I put my quarter in and nothing comes out.

It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve stormed the men’s restroom in an act of desperation!
