Does anyone else feel like this election day/cycle is "eerily quiet"?

Something is off. It may be because I don't watch much news. But even on social media, I feel like there's an eery calm before the storm-type mood around the country. My initial thoughts are a couple things may be happening:

    1. The Dems "know" they have it and are going through the motions to make it look like a hard fought election so there is less yelling and screaming about a steal.
    2. The Dems "know" they are struggling and it's going to be close and they are holding their breath and trying to behave so as not to alienate undecided voters or keep dissapointed dems at home on super Tuesday.
    3. The Dems secretly want their taxes to go down and disposable income to go up so they are hoping Trump wins (ha ha, I know).
    4. I'm reading everything wrong and there is no difference in hype/vitriol/antagonism between 2016/2020/2024.

Thoughts? Am I the only one who feels like something about the national political climate is "off" compared to the last two presidential elections?

Definitely has a weird feel to it. I can't articulate it but I get exactly what you mean.

Now that you mention it, yes.

There are very few signs compared to past elections. I think it is that neither party is excited. Earlier polls showed about 70% of the people didn't want either Biden or Trump. I doubt Harris or knowing the VP picks changed that by much.

Could it be that the whole country is tired of all the vitriol and just wants it to be over?

I don't believe the polls that this race is close...no idea what's gonna happen, but yeah it smells.

We won't be getting results tonite.

They are saying 80 million voted already.

unfortunately number 1. Trump has no chance IMO but I certainly hope I am wrong for fist time since bush lost to clinton.

I think we used to have more of a ramp up of coverage/talk before an election. Now everything is non stop politics every day of the year.

Good point. Political Fatigue Syndrome. The masses being herded around by the small percentage of power seekers. We are tired.

I agree. It's a mix of all 4. I've been saying something similar to my wife for about a week now. Something strange is going on.

Everybody, including the Dems, knows that the only way Harris wins is if they're able to pull off MASSIVE cheating. There's a good chance that there will be some unrest regardless of the outcome. If the cheat gets beat, then the Left will probably riot. If the cheat is successful, then there could be some protests from the right, although no cities burning or anything.

Best case scenario is that the cheat is unsuccessful, and there are no Soros-funded lefty riots. I'm praying for that outcome.

It is VERY quiet. I see very little flags (on houses and cars), bumper stickers, yard signs compared to the previous 2 elections. In fact there are just 1 or 2 houses in my neighborhood who have political signs, and they are for some local elections. I don't know why though? I also don't know why for the first time I didn't have a sign, sticker and flag either??

                          Positive Side:
My wife just told me last night that all her side of the family who voted for Obama, Hillary and Biden....voted for Trump this time in early voting.

I just had a coworker come up and ask me where the nearest polling location is and that this was going to be his first time voting...and he's voting for Trump.

I am sure there are many many more stories just like these happening as we speak.

I told my wife the same thing! No boat parades, no truck parades, very few flags etc…..

I read something recently that said the Trump supporters are voting Trump no matter what. That they also realize that they cannot change the mind of a socialist liberal and have decided to lay low.

This entire thing reminds me of 2016 where all the poles told us Hillary had a 17 point lead and he was toast. I have talked to 3 people recently that hav never voted except for now. If that is the case around the country the Pollsters got it wrong. Which is my hope that all the dem poles got it wrong. I read a poll the other day that said Trump was losing in the Blue Wall but the data was done on 800 callers that are likely to vote. I’m sure some poles are good but to me it seems the pollsters and media are against him.
