So if Trump wins the electoral college....who certifies the electoral votes. The Vice President, Kamala Harris.

What could possibly go wrong.

Congress meets in joint session to count the electoral votes. The Vice President, as President of the Senate, presides over the count and announces the results of the Electoral College vote. The President of the Senate then declares which persons, if any, have been elected President and Vice President of the United States.

I've said this from day 1 and sticking to it.

Only I'm doubting myself a little since Yellen printed or is printing $500 per American/per week these last few weeks. If I thought Democrats had any thought process at all they would print even more as fast as they can and then let Trump deal with the aftermath.

Too big to steal plus leaving Trump with 36 trillion in debt....is a good reason to let it go. They sure don't want to though.

I think that the January 6 counting of the votes is mere formality of certifying the election. The votes have al been counted by Safe Harbor day which is usually on the middle of December.

That was the contention when the Supreme Court essentially declared George Bush the winner of the 2000 election. Safe Harbor was the critical day. (Safe Harbor is the first Tuesday after the second Wednesday in December)

The Supreme Court in the controversial election case voted 7-2 that the Florida recount violated the Fourteenth Amendment. There was no standard way of counting the famous hanging chads from the paper ballots and that violated due process and equal protection since one county could use one standard and another could use something completely different. That was definitely not equal protection under the Fourteenth Amendment. Remember that they had to individually hand count millions of ballots.

That is where Safe Harbor came into play next. The Supreme Court decision was that all of the counties had to get together and come up with a standard way of counting. The problem was that they had to convene a meeting, debate the issue and then come up with a standard way to count votes and then go back to each county and hand count millions of votes. However, it had to be done by Safe Harbor. Safe Harbor is the actual day that the electoral college votes are counted in each state and it will be done by the electors on the state level. The Supreme Court voted 5-4 that there was simply no time to do that by Safe Harbor day. That ended the recount and declared G. W. Bush as president.

January 6 is just the day that the vice president has to count all the votes that were taken two or three weeks earlier on Safe Harbor.

J6 is a mere formality. The votes have already been certified at the state level and submitted to Congress before the end of December.

Nate Silver of 538.com flip flops as much as any politician I have ever seen...his credibility has been severely weakened since he has come out as a Never Trumper.....he flipped again this week and said his " gut" feeling is that Trump is gonna win....

IF it was anyone other than Trump I feel it wouldnt even be a discussion, the Republican would win in a landslide....

I dont trust polls at all, but all the swing states had Hillary and Biden up by 8%to 12% across the board and we saw what happened there...I think Trump is way ahead and they would NEVER admit it because they want that money rolling in......

I pray that he wins for the country sake and I really want to see Wray, Myorkas, and etc to be booted to the curb

They are correcting their mistakes. They realized that overblown polls
lead to voter apathy. As in “why should I take city transportation to go vote if “my candidate “ is surely going to win?”
