    To vote early or not?

Lots of people are saying to vote early. Is there a reason why?

I figured if Dems plan to cheat with fake mail in ballots (since no one can prove where they come from) voting early gives them a better idea how how much they need to cheat.
Others saying things like the regular votes and be manipulated...

    Thoughts on this?

I'll probably vote early if I'm in town but wondered if people have though about this.

RR has a good point on the dems using vote data to figure out the amount of cheat they need. I hope republican do the same.

        Good point !
mail in voting was created by emergency during WW2 for service members and should be confined to emergency use
as intended, abolish the mail ballot for the general public

I don’t think primary elections use mail ballots?
        election reform is long overdue

I vote early because I don't like waiting in line. Also, don't want something coming up last minute that keeps me from going.

Republicans always start out way behind because Dems tend to vote early then R's have to play catch up. Suppose on the 5th we have wide spread bad weather D's have all voted early.

The push for voting early is because of unforeseen situations that could cause one to miss such as storm, illness, car trouble etc. There is thought that some areas will experience “technical difficulties “ on Election Day like what happened I think in Arizona. Shut down the lines for hours while people are waiting and they get frustrated and leave. One of the election sites had “printer” issues and pulled thing my memory serves.

Campaigns are not supposed to have access to early voting data, though im certain it can be obtained for a price.

if cheating is occurring, and like you said, it’s rife with opportunity to do so, why wouldn’t it, and the still not explained sudden halt in vote counting in key states where Trump was leading, then by morning, Biden had suddenly surged…. All that taken into consideration, cheating seems to be happening, it also seems there is no strategy to prevent it.

the inevitable coronation of Harris seems to be a bit like prison rape, sure you can try to fight it, but doing so ain’t gonna stop it and likely just tears your @$$ more. Might as well just relax and take it….

If everyone were to send in just 5 envelopes to the elections with a blank piece of paper inside, it would overwhelm the postal people and help against these cheats they do

Or give an excuse why they should extend the cutoff date for receiving mail-in ballots.

Lara Trump mentioned that it’s better to vote early as it enables the party to shift get-out-the-vote resources to areas where it has the potential to do the most good. I’m not sure how this is possible, just repeating what she said.

                            For what it’s worth……

People aren’t supposed to know the results of early voting but the number of people who voted is known.

Many states, like Texas, have party affiliation either by declaring a party or voting in a primary (like Texas).

So a county might say, 1,000 people who voted in the Democrat primary, also voted early today. Then 500 people who voted in the Republican primary voted early today. Also 250 people who did not vote in a primary voted early today.

While we don’t know who they pushed the button for, we know how many people voted.

I watched a report on a single county in North Carolina on the first day of early voting this year and how it compared to 2020.

This is just an interesting example of what may be Trump’s support or perhaps the Republicans starting to have a better ground game.

                            Guilford County, NC

2020 first day of early voting
                            Democrat 9,936
                            Republican 3,366
                            Unaffiliated 3,563

So almost 10,000 people who declared as Democrats, voted on the first day. People who declared to be Republicans voted at almost 3,400 on the first day and so on.

Here was the first day of early voting this year.

                            Guilford County, NC

2024 first day of early voting
                            Democrat 8,317
                            Republican 5,472
                            Unaffiliated 4,836

While we don’t know who those people voted for (supposedly), it is probably a good bet that most stayed within their claimed party.

In 2020 on the first day of voting showed about 60% of the votes coming from declared Democrats and only 20% from declared Republicans. That’s a 300% advantage to overcome on Election Day. Of course test was only the first day.

In 2024 the first day margin of Dems over the GOP has fallen to 45% to 30%.

So in 2020 the Dems appeared to have a 300% lead in votes but in 2024 it has fallen to 50%.

                            That is huge.

Will it hold up? Does it really indicate who got those votes? It’s anyone’s guess however….

No matter what we believe, you can bet that Harris and Trump are looking at those numbers.

Of course maybe the 2020 numbers of early voting was part of cheating but Trump won NC that year.
