It's crazy out there. Some of you know my Dad passed away and social security basically told her too bad and she's still fighting to just get the $255 death benefit. So now she gets to live off of an amazing $1,100 per month in income.
Point #2 - The hurricane victims you hear getting $750... Not really. They have to apply first. The only people who qualify are those already getting free money. If you were insured or have income you get exactly jack squat.
Here's my rant. Took me a while to figure it out. I have no proof it's just a guess but I bet I'm correct. My daughter took a new job. The guy (call him Frank) is opening a dog boarding/training franchise. Cost near 100k to buy in. Ok no big deal.. He interviewed once and hired my daughter and another guy(call him Bob). Well they get paid $20/hr for the last 3 weeks to basically do nothing. My daughter was asking me a zillion questions like how? LOL I had no answer. Now he just sent both band new employees that he just hired to Indianapolis for training. Total cost is about $25k per employee. At this point I was thinking no freaking way. No one in their right mind would invest that much in a new employee. I mean he doesn't even know either one at all.
So they met at work one day (instead of the shelter they normally go to since business isn't open yet) and it takes Bob 3 hours to get there. He doesn't own a car so takes public transportation. I just laughed thinking nothing of it. Daughter can't figure out why Frank hired this guy over another dog trainer that applied that lives close to the new business.
Now daughter is in North Carolina because flight was delayed then entire route changed. So she's on the clock making money sitting in airports. I asked her if she's just hanging out with Bob and she has no clue where he ended up. He was supposed to be on the same flight/s as her. LOL
As she was telling me about other ways money is flowing out without a care it dawned on me.... Must be free money. So I asked the question, and yep Frank and Bob are both "minorities".
So my wager is all this money is a taxpayer funded grant to help a minority business get started. Going to be about $200k down the crapper without a care in the world. But they can tell my elder mom to screw off because $1,100 a month is enough.
This guy has zero clue how to run a business from the things my daughter is telling me. He doesn't even know what days he wants the business to be open (She asked him yesterday). Oh and Frank is a software engineer so he makes decent money. This will be his side gig.
I do hope I'm wrong and this guy is losing his own money....But I can't see anyone being that stupid with their own cash.
