I would have made a good aircraft engine mechanic too.

oh the happiness of reaching a massive increase of pay for poorly qualified and way underworked long shoremen. Their quality of work still isn’t going to change , it’s going to hit us All in the pocket hard including their own family’s . but this has been discussed over and over on here. It is completely out of line - they weren’t meeting the criteria of even half asked workers and were already overpaid as it was . There comes a time for us blue collar workers that we have to understand where our place is on the pecking order. We always did ! We worked extremely hard , had plenty of food on our tables and were able to build a savings . We hunted, fished, traveled but we Knew our pecking order. I. Open shop we could actually progress . I was embarrassed in my field when I unioned up and saw the lacking of skills ! We couldn’t do Contract jobs which is where the money is due to the lack of motivation , skill and allll of the breaks we had to take. I knew this. Before hand but it was like running into a slimy brick wall. When we were open shop sometimes we HAD to use union hands to man large shut downs . Our clients were ******d over how their jobs slowed down and didn’t want them in our cranes or rigging. We didn’t want them there either- they made us look bad . When I was working with union millrights supporting turbine overhauls they always had a pisspoor attitude and it made us cringe when we found out we were going to those jobs. It was no different than with their pipefighters and boiler fakers. Sure , every once in a while there were hands that stood out but they were surround by book buyers! This is hands on experience in the petrochemical industry for 34 yrs. I went to the stupid hall meetings where they told us that we Had to vote demonrat but I didn’t just sit there and take it or cheer it on like all of the other yes men union hands. I stood up with and told them that You do not Tell Me who to vote for in which I was threatened by groups of cowards. Their threats or the beat downs I took did not deter me. It didn’t take long before the tide started to turn though and people started standing with me. The BA and his wifey where stealing our money but we got their arses eventually - they had taken - excuse me , Stolen over 3 million dollars from us . I got nothing for them.Last edited by Bucknaked; 10-04-2024, 10:45 AM.
