    Grand Prarie water problems

Some "foaming" agent in the water, do not use for bathing or drinking. Not that this is a terror incident but it does highlight how vulnerable our systems are. We have a community Life Straw system and a back up home made purification system which is basically a filtration medium for larger solids, after letting water solids settle in a separate container, gravel layer, sand layer and activated charcoal layer. Easy to find on internet on how to make system. We also have supply of pure bleach for use on long term water stored. We have pond water available, our pond.

I think water, or the lack of it, will be a continuing problem. I have both a large rain water collection system and a hand pump for my well. I only have 13' of fall between them and my house so only have 6# of pressure but it will work.

They’re reporting that somehow firefighting foam got backfilled into the water system.

There is still a lot of bad JuJu over there in and around the Naval air station and the old GD plant. No way all that stuff from decades back has ever been abated 100%

I'm retired fwfd 37 years and that sounds as if someone screwed up and hooked incoming supply line to discharge outlet, I've seen it happen in FWFD......I once gave another engine 2 1/2 line for me to supply them and looked at gauge and I had over 120 psi I went over and he had hooked my supply line in discharge rather than intake. I was pretty harsh in my words and I had to fix it for him....layed 4 inch supply line at a fire gave it to FF driving and he tried hooking on to discharge, I took it from him and put on intake.......our hydrants were a in 40 psi range so easy to over come that with 150 psi and send it into the hydrant.......interesting they say don't shower, I've been completely covered in foam numerous times and never bothered us and much higher concentration, it's just special soap. Not saying this is what happened but it sounds like it to me.
