Drivers Side Mirror Problem

Any idea what would have caused this to my drivers side mirror? It started a few months ago but has steadily gotten worse until it’s what it is now. I took it to the Dodge dealership thinking it may be covered by my forever warranty and originally was told it was. They took pictures and submitted then called me later to tell me it wasn’t.

Needs a new glass. They pop out and are replaceable

Buy a new mirror on amazon (maybe $30?) and install it. Much easier solution than arguing with a dealer.

Dodge has defrosters in the mirrors. Mine overheated and discolored the glass. File a report with NHTSA. I know it’s a problem w/ Rams as you can find tons of reports about it. Going to be at least $1500. The plastic lens melted on the bottom of my mirror along with the glass getting discolored. I caught it before completely melting. It should be a safety recall, but we all know how long that will take.

Well upon a second look, it looks like bad glass but when you get it off check for heat damage.
