Well yes, we do know exactly who owns them. They must make full disclosures in their application to connect to the grid. There is a detailed review process in place with ERCOT and the DoE that happens before connection. Many of the largest solar farm and battery operating companies are Texas-based companies.

Solar farms are indeed ugly but not nearly as ugly as wind farms.

I don't believe bitcoin mining should be allowed to tax an already shaky power grid, regardless of who owns them. Solar farms are not only an eyesore, but far more detrimental ecologically than wind farms (which I also hate), and also fraudulently subsidized. It is my understanding that the chinese are heavily invested in both, and I don't think the chinese should own a square inch of soil in the US, nor should any other country for that matter.

I don’t know anything about bitcoin but solar farms and wind farms are nothing but scams.

At one time I worked for a certain manufacturing facility that is big in the PBR. making gates, bucking chutes etc. my contacts out there have told me they are making lots of posts for mounting solar panels etc.

I don’t doubt it, and I don’t wish any lost business on local businesses. I just don’t think any of that is good for the state, long term.

I don’t have a problem with bitcoin mining as it typically occurs when wholesale power prices are low and when bitcoin prices are high. In other words, during periods of lower power demand. Thus not a major detrimental effect on the grid stability unlike EVs and data centers which run all the time. Bitcoin itself should be outlawed as it serves to support the financing of criminal activity, money laundering, and the international drug trade.

China is the leader in manufacturing solar panels by a large margin so almost every solar farm is therefore a Chinese product.

We should not allow Chinese ownership of any land in the US but US allies such as Canada and the UK is not a problem in my opinion.

So, if the CCP is buying up property for solar or farm production, are they practicing "Capitalism"?

                    Just a thought.
