    Construction Everywhere

Cities, suburbs, rural area. It is getting difficult to drive. City water line replacement, Streets in the suburbs and bridges in the rural areas. Anyone else notice how hard it is to drive without construction. Did Joe do this?

He doesn’t share his and his family’s ill gotten gains. They don’t pay taxes. We did this with our taxes that we paid and with everything we buy with inflated dollars.

Heck, interstate 45 between Galveston n Houston was the first one in the state, and it ain't finished YET!! Been multiple generations of many families made their living off I-45 construction! 59 ain't no different. It's just not quite an interstate yet...
But hey, that's "progress"... or at least that's what we're told... so construction is a good thing.... sometimes...

I remember them working on that in the 70s. When in high school I used to go to Houston metro in the summers to frame houses. I don't think anyone lets their teenagers do things like that anymore.

Speaking of interstates that was President Eisenhower did that. Truck traffic used to go across US highways like 180, 190 and 380. You can blame him for the loss of good chicken fried steak places steak places along those routes. This meant the slow decay of these small town. But he did get a lot of your closest relatives out of the small town truck stops. jeje

Its funny how you get used to certain counties having to wet so many beaks and then watch a rural county get it done in record time.

Not sure if anyone can chime in on completion level but Gosling Road, Harris County from The Woodlands to 99 has to have been one of the longest projects Ive witnessed by road size.

Hwy 360 between Dallas and Ft Worth was under construction when I moved to Euless in 1963 before there was even talk about DFW Airport. It is still being worked on at the south end before intersecting with Hwy 287 and thru Arlington at the I30 junction. 61 years and no end in sight.
