Neither of them are good debaters, I suspect Joe, if not bumbling and telling lies, will consistently go back and remind folks Trump is a convicted felon.

I still find it off that the debate is occurring this early, before either has been formally nominated. These are normally late and October. I still suspect the DNC is using this to replace Biden

Pretty much sums it up IMO. I watched some of it and I agree Trump is not a good debater. Many times he had to be repeated the original question because he got off topic in rebuttal to ole Potato Head Joe. It was a clown show to say the least just finger pointing and blame game.

However, if the American People has good common sense to take a look around at the current status and issues in this country they can certainly say ole Potato Head isn't the best of choice IMO

I know, I called on page 2 of this thread. But I admit, I’m a bit surprised the media isn’t trying to soften or even cover for him. It’s that bad.

It’s like they all got a text at the same time “implement order 66!” Or something. No way after gaslighting us for years now that he is brilliant, did they all turn 180 in unison bc of a debate.

The Dems are in a bad spot. The thing that Biden had going for him was moderates and moderate republicans willing to vote against Trump rather than for Biden. He lost a lot of those votes tonight. Some will give up and stay home, and some will decide that anything is better than Biden and vote for trump. That’s all a net win for trump. If the dems replace Biden with anyone but Kamala they will lose both female and African American votes, but it’s no secret that she’s just about as bad a candidate as dementia Joe. So who do the dems run? Harris, in an effort to keep the female and AA vote, who probably loses to Trump, or someone else while alienating those voters bases. They’re short on quality candidates. Their next best option is maybe Gavin Newsome, but he’s about as appealing as Harris or Biden, and moderates will look at the state that California is in and either stay home or lean more towards trump. This is an unmitigated disaster for the left. The dems best bet would’ve been to throw manchin in last minute, but that’s not an option anymore either.

I think I am agreeing with you sir. If the Dem.s thought this was a good ideal to but Biden in this debate, they made a mistake. I have only understood about half of what he has tried to say.

Depends on who it is. If the dems are smart they’ll find a semi-moderate candidate that’s either female, minority, or both. If they pick one who isn’t completely crazy then trump probably loses. If Biden, Newsome, or Harris is pushed through then trump probably wins. It’s a shame that the republicans didn’t nominate literally anyone else. This would be a cakewalk.

I just have to shake my head at a number of the takes in this thread that aren’t even in the ball park of what’s really going on. Trump can’t win for losing. He’s too mean and brash they complain, he goes into a rigged “debate” and doesn’t get into any arguments or lose his cool with all the BS flying, so he’s a terrible debater now

key takeaways:
1) the swamp just allowed the nation to actually see what most have known, whether it was by accident or design remains to be determined.
2) trump did exactly what he needed to, kept control and kept pressing and highlighting the biggest issues that every poll has been claiming and every single American has been feeling.
3) there was a clear line of someone who is competent with successful policies and someone who is not competent with nothing but a lifetime of failed policies.
4) the attempts to label trump as a nazi, racist, criminal, etc by the entire room was predictable but IMO seemed to fall flat which I was surprised by. Not sure it was the lack of reaction from trump or just that it was predictable.
5) trump remains one of the best when it comes to trolling your enemy
6) FJB is a -6 handicap golfer
