The only option remaining this late in the game is for Biden to step down at the Democratic National Convention and recommend another candidate. The issue here is the State delegates that came to the convention to officially nominate Biden to run for President would then need to come to an agreement in majority with the new candidate. This process is actually in the bylaws of the Democrat party, so it is a real option.
With the above, it's possible the dems use the first debate as a trial run for Biden and use the Convention to make a change. However, I find it unlikely that Newsome would want to step in at such a late stage only a couple months prior to the election also with being behind in the national pools. I think Newsome has his sights set for a 2028 run.
Horrible as it may sound, it wouldn't surprise me to wake up one morning to the news that Biden fell down the stairs or something.
