I have really taken to liking the Armed Attorneys. They explain things very simply.
    Full rule:

3 Types of People The ATF is targeting with the new rule:

Keep in mind, our representatives have voted down this proposal for 20 years but an unelected, unaccountable 3 letter agency just made up a rule.

The National Rifle Association is America’s longest-standing civil rights organization. Together with our more than five million members, we’re proud defenders of history’s patriots and diligent protectors of the Second Amendment.

Here is two that has happened within the last two years and they are about to win another in the Supreme Court. They are not hard to find if you care to look.

Most folks also do not realize that the NRA sanctions all types of shooting disciplines in this country and hold the Nationals in New Mexico at the NRA's Whittington Center. I know that most of you on here are not competitive shooters and could care less about the NRA or its matches. I do not want to see them dissolve and hope they can come back stronger but they have had internal organization problems since the 60's. The Gun Control Act of 1968 really divided the NRA at the time, part of the NRA leadership did not want to ban mail order guns and the other did, one reason for their justification of it was JFK had been killed with a mail order gun. The tower shooting in Austin, Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy assassinations really changed things at the time.

Unfortunately, over the years the NRA has become as crooked as the politicians they pay off. I believe the best thing that happened to the NRA was Letitia James coming after ol Wayne and getting him run off.

Artos is correct. Hundreds of hard working NRA personnel fight the good fight ever day. I was the South Texas NRA Field Rep from 1992 to 2002. None of us ever liked LaPierre but his power base in the NRA Board was impressive. The best thing for the NRA is him gone.

Friends of NRA banquets still raise $$$ for 501(c)3 NON-PROFIT grants. NRA-ILA still works hard to protect 2nd Amendment Rights.

GOA & other similar groups don't have the voter base support that the NRA still does. You can believe what you want but I was in the trenches for a decade. Y'all be safe & FJB!

I admit, I was wrong, I did not consider the relationship between state associations and the NRA. And I agree the shooting sports aspect of the NRA-ILA is beneficial.

but I do think the NRA has become a “fat cat” and has become too cozy with career politicians. I hope the recent turmoil has humbled them and refocused them on the mission at hand.

No way. When I completed a 4473 it was with the distinct understanding it was for a background check to purchase a firearm, not to register the firearm in a national database.

I been a lifetime member of NRA since 1969. NRA still has some scum at the top of the pond that needs to be skimmed off like they did Wayne IMO. Meanwhile I still support GOA and I don't send $$ to NRA anymore.

Most people aren't selling 50-100+ guns a year out of their "private collection", but those are the ones that are creating the problems.
There’s a few members here on TBH that are only here to sell guns in the classifieds.

Here is the link for rules and regulations from the ATF as of last Friday April 19th. I do not think much will change unless you are making multiple sales on the internet forums, gun shows or at flea markets. The ATF says they will send you a cease and desist letter if you are suspected of being an unlicensed dealer as the first step, but if you continue it will be your azz. That is just my understanding, I could be wrong.

On April 10, 2024, the Attorney General signed ATF’s final rule, Definition of “Engaged in the Business” as a Dealer in Firearms, amending ATF’s regulations in title 27, Code of Federal Regulations (“CFR”), part 478. The final rule implements the provisions of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (“BSCA,” effective June 25, 2022), which broadened the definition of when a

Watching a couple of Armed Attorneys videos on this topic on YouTube (and they are fairly low key), even selling through an FFL can be a violation.

Potentially this might have shut down sites such as gunbroker.

So now they have said, trust us…. we will just warn you if we find you doing a crime.

Maybe that will be true, but the ground work has been put in place to potentially make every private sale a felony unless “you” possess an FFL.
