I believe our Constitutional rights are for US citizens, not those who chose to break the law to enter and who chooses to stay here illegally daily. As an illegal he has no constitutional rights or protection under 2A. If you let them have one, where does it end? Do they get 2A rights? What about 15A and right to vote?

I am surprised that an Obama appointed judge in Illinois rules for gun ownership though. but i guess arming those who are invading us fits their plan

You are wrong about illegal aliens not having constitutional rights if they are in this country. A reading of the Fourteenth Amendment, Sec. 1 will show the folly of that belief. That is particularly true looking at the timing and intent of that amendment.

Federal law denying gun rights such as convicted felons, is allowed and has never been overturned by the Supreme Court. So while illegal aliens have certain rights under the Constitution, that are currently banned by federal law from possessing firearms just as those convicted of felonies.

And that is exactly what the judge said, they are afforded that right unless they have been convicted of a felony.

No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

I'm not a constitutional expert, but this is about what any State my do or not do. It talks about depriving any person of life, liberty or property without due process. Or deny any person (it could be read as a citizen of the US since that how it starts).

I don't see it granting 2A rights to illegal aliens. But that's just me- and they didn't ask my opinion.

Don't see the problem. These are not illegals, our Govenor (Hot Wheels), is welcoming them in with open arms and flying them throughout the country. Don't blame them for wanting to come here with their families for a better way of life. Now that they are here you don't think they should have the right to defend themselves or their family? Why? Not everyone being escorted into the country is a criminal. The percentage of illegals committing crimes is far less than good ol red blooded Americans. At the end of the day a human being should have the right to defend themselves.

As a full supporter of avoiding any firearm restriction I don't see the problem. Anyone you don't want to carry a gun will have one anyway. This makes it easier for anyone with good intentions. Be very careful going down the path of saying someone carrying a gun legally will have negative consequences. Illegal immigration is a totally separate issue and I see this as a win.

While I’m not one for restrictions, why did I, as a naturally born citizen, have to fill out a 4473 and state I am not here illegally in order to complete a firearm purchase exactly one week ago today? Don’t get me wrong, I still have my CHL/LTC, but I also still have to answer a question on a federal form.

An honest answer by the subject would have disqualified him from purchasing through an FFL. Don’t get me wrong, I have 0 issues with private party sales, but if the person in question is here illegally and can’t buy without answering that one question in particular, how the hell can it be deemed legal for him to carry a firearm?

Don’t read too much into all that, it’s rhetorical and I’m pretty sure any rationally thinking person reading this already knows the answer.

If this had been a couple of cheats who committed felony tax fraud, paid their debt to society & got caught with firearms, you really think this obama judge would suddenly have a soft spot for the 2nd amendment for their protection??

This is a state that has a history of prosecuting citizens who defended their own homes with firearms...this is complete bs & has nothing to do with let's look at the big picture. It is trying to set a precedent where illegals continue to get slapped on the wrist & released.
