If each member of Congress, as individuals, know they bring home $10,000 per month and spent $15,000 per month, how long would they be able to do this before their credit would be revoked? The federal government took in around $5T in revenue in fiscal year 2022. In 2023 they took in about 14% more. Say that percent increase stayed the same throughout the next several years, the $7.3T budget that Biden submitted creates a deficit from the get go. The problem is that the tax increases that Biden wants to put into the budget historically has shown that revenues decline, so the baked in deficit will most likely grow.

I know that President's have been doing it for many years, but if the Republicans in the House had any stones, they would push back that budget proposal and remind the President that it is the legislative branch (House) where financial bills are legally supposed to start and unless he can come up with a budget proposal that is less than expected revenue, that he can pound sand until they submit something.

We need to make a balanced budget a requirement of Congress. Give each member of the House $1 million if they submit a balanced budget and each Senator, $2 million. Give the President $20 million if budget is signed.

With this kind of incentive, they either solve the problem or reveal themselves to be compromised.

And it only costs the US taxpayer less than $700 million, which is how much Washington spends in about 90 minutes.

It's only going to take a couple more and the dems can do what they want and go full blown on destruction of this country. 2024 election might even get postponed or canceled. I get so tired of “let’s tax the rich and big corporations to help the rest of our citizens” — the idiot politicians do not acknowledge that these actions raise prices for all as corporations don’t eat the tax increase-they pass it on by raising prices. Then they go on camera and rant and rave about the other guy causing inflation. And of course, we have lots of citizens who listen and believe pols are acting in their best interest. Just SMH!
