Almost $1 Billion dollars with over $90 million for a football stadium......my youngest graduated from there and my oldest went there first year oldest new high school was built.....pure insanity.....current football stadium is nice and not very old......my house in Frisco was in Prosper ISD so both step kids spent some time there, not high school, and local cop buddy lives in Celina, like my ex did, and in Prosper ISD......these are not small cheap houses generally speaking I can't imagine what the taxes already are and will become if it passes and increasing appraisals yearly......on WBAP radio this morning they were going down a list of DFW districts throwing bond package votes and I'm sure it extends state wide. People have to stop this insanity and vote no.......wife complained on FB about our taxes and bond package and someone posted, looked us up on appraisal district evidently, that nobody that can afford a $900,000 house should be able to complain about taxes, our land and house is valued at that and most in Ag we have a 40 yr old 2,000 sq ft house which is hardly a $900,000 house.....

Technically passing a bond (no matter the size) does not equate to higher taxes. They calculate future growth and future property taxes to see what they can afford to pay back later once bond term is up.
But yes, it's 100% a bunch of BS that one day will blow up in Americas face. IMO all these schemes and scams put together will fail all at once (on purpose) so the people do not revolt. Stocks crash but everything else crashes also - who's to blame?
Leander went through bonds like that 10-20 years ago. It's not the end of the world...until it is. Austin was in a big time crunch years back because they stopped growing so the bonds screwed them. But lucky for them Austin was booming and so was the economy.
Everything is a scam these days. It's sad. I know that's very negative but it's true. Even non profits pay themselves stupid amounts of money.

Our district proposed a bond in the last election cycle, it included a new gymnasium (we already have 3) and new locker rooms but nothing actually learning related. The bond would have maxed out our district for 10 years, which it’s highly likely we would outgrow many of our current classroom counts.
it failed miserably. But I couldn’t help but chuckle at the “but it’s for the kids” panderers

Cut through Prosper yesterday and saw the signs "This will not raise your property taxes".......we had same ones here in our town and our POS bond passed by 24 votes.....Gainesville, a dump, passed a $85 million school bond......the trains have left the tracks........Our town is about 50% rentals in city limits and city taxes per $100 of valuation just went from .20 cents to .47 cents and school taxes, those properties not protected by homestead since rentals, went from .27 cents to .47 cents per $100 and those will be passed straight through to the renters who were probably stupid enough to vote for it.......now prepare for school assaults on the school vouchers being pushed through state as they all plead poverty.........I hope our local school calls us about a prom at our venue, I'll tell them the price is exactly what my property taxes otherwise they can pound sand. Wife WAS going to teach floral class for them as a volunteer but that's off the table now. We donated our venue to local little league sports association for a fund raiser and some of those parents were attacking my wife on the local FB for being against the bond and saying they had been to our place and we could easily afford the taxes, they won't be having it here again.
