Why wind and solar energy are running out of juice

Very interesting article on this "green energy" crap!!

The push for green energy had little to do with climate and sustainability of the environment. It is more about taking taxpayers money and lining the pockets of the elites in Washington and their loyal donors.

Working in power generation, the solutions to our energy crisis are obvious. Little thought was put into the current push for “sustainable” renewable energy.

How much fossil fuel and emissions are generated to build wind farms?

Where do you dispose of the solar panels once they reach end of life?

How much pollution is created during the lithium battery production process? Again, how do we properly dispose of these at end of life?

If the government wants to legislate requirements to be in all electric vehicles by 2035 similar to California, where will we be able to get the copper, lithium, cobalt, nickel? We would have to mine these precious metals at a rate that we have never done in the history of mankind. It would not be sustainable in the current form.

The cumulative impact of our current push for renewables won’t be known for many years, but I believe people are starting to wake up. Nuclear base load power plants are the only way to go for long term sustainability of our electric grid and our resources. If the government would quit picking winners and losers and let the free market work its course organically, I believe we would see this come to fruition. That along with hydrogen fueled vehicles.

        exactly my sentiments.
nothing green about using worlds resources that are in very limited quantities.

the current crime family administration is interested in how much money they and friends can steal, nothing else.

What I’ve been told, if the wind doesn’t blow, turbines don’t work. If the solar panels get above 95 degrees, they shut down. The ground underneath those panels becomes radioactive and nothing will ever grow. Then those panels have a lifespan of 10 years. What do you do with those then?

We need to take away the government subsidies and see how fast the wind generation stops. The wind turbines can’t pay for their self

I’m not against any and all types of energy production. I use Lithium batteries and like them- light and run 100% until out of juice. The US needs to build nuclear at this point. I’m for using fossil fuels as well. Technology will advance and maybe some time in the future wind or solar will the best option. Right now both are nothing more than inefficient

Nice post sir! You've summed up my thoughts very well and very succinctly. I also work in the industry and have those same questions and more. The government was collecting money to build nuclear storage site at Yucca Mountain to store spent uranium rods, but of course backed out. Then nuclear plant owners had to build their own storage facilities. I don't, however, ever hear about what we are going to do with old solar panels and electric car batteries, which are seriously toxic. If companies selling these have to start paying for disposal sites it will really put them in a hole.
