I will wager there has not been a single politician who has been in congress for 10 years or longer that is not a multi millionaire today. This is especially true of any democrat. Look at AOC. She came in with a net worth of $8,499 in 2018. Today her kitty is estimated at over 12 million and growing at 1.6 million a year due to investments and so called business ventures. All on a salary of $175k a year.

Its doesnt take them anywhere near 10 years to hit the millionaire status. Just 2-3 in most cases..

Yeah, that is why they only want insiders who have been groomed in the process, to keep the cushy gigs going. Anyone elected to congress, anything beyond school boards really, should have to sell any investments they have or they should be frozen so they cannot buy or sell anything. Their bank accounts should be audited yearly, as well as family members. I know that sounds extreme but they are making fools of us, getting rich by using their law making abilities and inside information to make advantageous investments and business deals. It's ridiculous.

Pathetic, this is all anyone needs to see to make it obvious that politicians operate with almost complete immunity or accountability.

Sad times indeed. This will never be corrected. This, like most things going on today, will be the norm.

Big money lobbyists greasing the palm under the table. They all do it eventually and especially if they control the outcome of something the lobbyists want done or not done.

Probably more like blackmail; threats to reveal!

Exactly. Thus the need for audits of bank accounts for them and their family members. Drastic measures, but it will dissuade the ones who are there for the big money and shenanigans. They have shielded themselves from prosecution for insider trading. Hmmm, what does that tell you?

Same script for decades and we act surprised. It's all about who can leverage unflattering info. It's how votes are manipulated.
