    Pork chops write up

Well I have been in a slump for awhile here at home. I have stuck 4 hogs in the past couple months and havent been able to find them. The last few weeks I havent been able to get a hog anywhere close enough to shoot with my bow. I have sat and watched them graze at the far end of my neighbors wheat field and then walk off back up in the brush. I was Turkey hunting last night and saw 4 hogs grazing at the end of the wheat field again. The wind was blowin pretty hard straight at me so I decided to try to sneek down the field up in the brush and try to get a shot. I eased up the hill and crawled on my belly across the open spot into the brush so that the hogs wouldnt see me. I got up into the brush and started sneekin down toward the hogs as quick and quiet as I could. I worked my way through the thick brush and got above them. My next challenge was to get across another open area without the hogs seein me or the cattle spooking and scaring the hogs off. I crawled across the open and in behind a tree. I worked my way around to where I could get a shot at the biggest hog in the group. He was grazing out at 55 yards working his way right to me. The steers saw me raise up and decided to charge over and see what I was. The big boar trotted around the other side of the tree so I had to move quick to get a shot. I got a clear shot at him broadside and came to full draw. I settled my 30 yard pin tight behind his shoulder and let my Uncle Ted signature Goldtip arrow fly. The rage hit him and blew all the way through. I watched him run over to a tree in the edge of the field and go down. the other hogs never even looked up during all this and I had another hog working toward me on the other side of the tree. I slipped back around the tree and set up to get a shot at the hog. Well the hog changed directions and started toward the creek away from me. I stood up and started sneekin toward the hog. I got to within 35 yards and came to full draw. The hog looked up and saw me and actually trotted at me then turned broadside. I settled my 30 yard pin behind her shoulder and let another Uncle Ted Signature Goldtip fly. I guess she was closer to me than I thought and I hit her a little high. The Rage 2 blade spined her and she went down where she stood. When she squeald there where hogs that came from everywhere. I didnt see them down in the creek and they came on the run. There where baby hogs everywhere ranging in size from new born to about 15 pounds. I saw probably 100 or more baby hogs runnin around along with 10 or so big hogs. I couldnt get a shot at any more hogs cause they ran off into the brush. I grabbed the second hog I shot and started dragging her to my truck back at the other end of the wheat field. It was probably 250 yards back to where I could get my truck to the hog. You dont realize how heavy a 100 pound hog is until you have to drag one that far by yourself. I finally got her to the truck and got some pictures taken. I skinned and gutted her right there and got her in ice water so that her meat wouldnt spoil. By the time I got done taking care of that hog it was nearly dark and it had been nearly 2 hours since I shot the first hog. I headed back down to the far end of the wheat field to get the big hog. When I got there the big hog was starting to stink and had bloated a little because the weather was pretty hot. I didnt take my camera since I had planned on getting the hog back to my truck. I left him where he was laying and headed back to the truck. On the way back I ran into a couple of copperheads crawlin around so when I got to my truck I just loaded up and went home. I wish I could have gotten a picture of the big hog since he weighed around 300 pounds. I was dissapointed with his cutters because they were fairly short. But my slump has been broken I took 2 shots killed 2 hogs and they both went down in sight.
