    Two times the fun

I killed these two while hunting between Commanche and Deleon. I ahdn't ad much luck all season on this lease until the weekend after Christmas. I was set up in a DB Matrix 15 yds off the feeder. Around 4:00 a young buck came in and began feeding. A few minutes later I thought I was busted when the buck began to stomp and snort in my direction. Soon after a fox ran between me and the buck and everything went back to normal. About 4:45 I noticed movement tomy right. It was two does and a decent buck. Slowly the threesome moved in my direction. I had my camera set up to capture the shot ( my first serious attempt at videoing). As they moved into shooting range I clicked on my camera or so I thought. I noticed that the buck was limping as he kept on the heels of the two does. I drew back, released the arrow and watched the luminok disappear into the bucks front shoulder. All the deer scattered as the buck tried to outrun death, but to no avail. As I checked my camera to look at the shot I realized that I had actually turned the camera off(new camera). As I sat there disappointed about missing a perfect video opportunity I herd the sounds of hoofs on the rocks behind me. The deer that had bounded off minutes earlier returned unsure of what had just happened. I looked to my left a noticed a doe standing a mere 8 yds away. I drew back once again and within 5 minutes had my second deer down. A short tracking job of 50 yrds produced both deer lying a mere 20 yards apart. Upon recovery of the buck I confirmed my suspision, the buck had a severly broken leg. Sorry I didn't have video but it was a great learning experience for next year.
Sorry pics will have to come 2morrow.

pics are here, my first LDP's on the green screen

Finally got the pics ready, the buck was only 2 1/2 but I had to shoot him as his leg was broke. We had seen him earlier in the year chasing a doe and when he came in he was tailing another hot doe.
