WCBs first and second Axis doe!!

I've always had the desire to hunt an Axis so back in January I asked for some suggestions on a good ranch to go to. I got many ideas and picked Bugscuffle.
On my thread several asked if I wanted company. Out of 30 or so request, I found 7 others who could make the date I picked. Called Brian (T-Post) and Debbie at Bugscuffle and booked this last weekend for 8 hunters.
Me, Maglite, Keep, ShockValue, Fig, Txdukklr and son & Gerald S converged upon the ranch with deer in our eyes. On arrival we all knew this was the ranch of our dreams. It had deer. Axis that is...
Anyway, my hunt started on Fri. afternoon with an Axis down shortly after I got into the stand. Several Blackbuck started feeding in the dry creek below me. 3 axis followed them and I got my shot at 13yds almost straight down. 39 steps later it was down. Went and got Brian and Jeremy (best help I ever had on a hunt) and they took it to field dress and put me in another stand. Saw several shooters but couldn't pull the trigger... There's a story there but I won't go into it.
Sat. was terrible with the winds. Not much moved except for the tree I was in.
Sun. Morning was slow. Didn't see anyrhing until 9:30 when 3 axis moved in. They were very spooky and took their time getting into range. When the first one gave me a shot, I took it. After a night of removing slow brain cells, I was lucky to hit the thing. Got her a little far back so we got the dog out. Bowman found her quick but she was still alive. It spooked her into running and taking a swim trying to get away in the pond. She never made the other side and Brian had to get the paddle boat and grab her.
2 Axis down on my first hunt at Bugscuffle and I'm getting the hides tanned.
I'll let the others tell their storys.
