    Ohio "Snow Doe"

Well, a week before the bow season ends here in Ohio, I finally filled my last tag with a mature doe. After the gun season up here, the mature does get tough to kill with a bow, especially over corn. While hunting the last few weeks, I've actually seen a lot more bucks than I have does. Tough problem, huh? I guess they knew I had already used my buck tag back in October.

One of the best parts about taking this doe was getting to hunt in the snow. It was the 2nd time that it snowed this week. Had about 3" on the ground. It was just beautiful.

With snow on the ground the last few days, the deer were hitting the corn even harder and coming out earlier in the evening. I had to establish an "alternate" corn feeding site because the bucks kept running the does off of the "main" site. I'm happy to say it worked, and she is the result. The shot was quartering away at 15 yards, with my Diamond Machete, GoldTip arrows and Wasp SST broadheads. She went about 60 yards after the shot.

    Joshua
