I was lucky enough to take this 8 on Saturday morning. The feeder went off at 6:45 and I had a doe come in about 3 minutes later. As I went to pick up m bow I didn't realize that my bottom limb had become tangled up bith a backpack strap. She heard the noise and decided that this might not be a good place to hang out. She left and was promptly replaced by a small cow-horn spike. He was looking pretty tasty, when in walks a MUCH bigger buck. Well, I switched focus to the bigger buck and and waited for my shot. Soon enough he was quatering away. I put the 20 yard pin up the back of the front off-side leg (not the FRONT) and let her rip. The Buzz-Cut tipped A/C/C3-60 zipped through him. He took off straight up the hill through the cedars. I could only see him for about 30 yards. I waited and sent some text messages. Finally I got out to find my arrow. I probably should have waited. It turns out that he only ran about 40 yards before stopping. My getting outta the blind must have spooked him because he took off on a death run. We couldn't find any blood past where he was standing. I went one way and Justin Porter took off on a hunch. His hunch paid off. He had seen deer do this before and followed his hunch. We went and picked it up, but before we did, we took a couple of pictures. Sorry it was sooooo long winded, but hey it's my first Texas deer.
