[Problem Child]

Shot a sow last night about 2100 hrs. she weighed in at 238lbs Im very impressed with my 625 grain arrow setup. she kept shifting positions and would never stay still , just as i drew my bow she turned hard quarterng towards me. iknew i had enough arrow to push through her shoulder into her vitals so i let the arrow fly. i watched the lighted nock disapear into her shoulder as she let out a squeal and took off running.
Upon finding her and dressing her i found the arrow entered into her right front shoulder, traveled the FULL lenght of her body and exited out the left rear quarter, breaking the left rear ham bone on it's way out.. Needleas to say im very impressed with my 625 grain arrow setup. Grizzly Stic Momentum 250s 29" long with a 175 grain XXL 1 7/8"cut Silver Flame

Just out of curiosity, what is your fps on that setup? I'm thinking of going to a heavier arrow myself.

slow compared to todays average speed. about 220 to 230. looking at new bows either a moster wake or a apa king cobra. wake should put me in the 260 fps range ki g cobra should put me in the 275 to 280 fps range. plenty fast enough.

I think you expectations are a little high the wak may get you 240s and cobra should put you mid 250s at 27/70 and 625 gr arrow

That cant be right that bow should be doing about 245 with a 625 gr arrow the cobra at 28 in should be 265 ish.

Well did you have the 75% or 85% mods maybe with the 75% you could get that speed otherwise i dont think that chrono was correct

Guess i stand corrected some bows can gain speed with heavy arrows i asked one of my buddies who shoots heavy arrows exclusively learn something new everyday i guess

Are you 28 or 27 draw.

right now i shoot 27 but i can shoot 28. ive been shooting 27 because it give me more bent arm.helping the string clear my arm when i have heavy / thick clothing in the colder weather months.
