    Do you carry binoculars?

I just found out a friend I have been bow hunting with for 4 years does not carry binoculars to the stand with him. I found that strange, I always have mine around my neck, in fact if I'm not already up in my stand and forget them I go back to the truck for them. I like to extend my eye site as far as possible. So I was just wondering who carries them and who doesn't? And if you don't why?

I have them most hunts unless I am in some thicker stuff then its just the range finder.

I don't in my bow blind. Not enough visible distance from inside the ground blind to require them. I do from my rifle blind, it has a much larger field of view and it allows me to better see the animals at the feeder or around it

I haven't carried any in about 5 years, since I started bow hunting. the few spots I hunt don't allow seeing more than about 75 yards in any direction so ive just never felt the need to use them.

Never without them. Even in thick stuff I can see though and identify so much more. Aside from my bow they are the most important thing I hunt with.

Depending on hunting equipment and situation.
Rifle in thick stuff = no
Rifle any other time = yes
Bow = Only if spot and stalk - I can only shoot 40yds from a tree stand, so what is the point if I can spot a buck a mile away?

However, I usually like to take them because looking around can help pass the time.

^^^Me too. At most of my bow set ups I can't see past 40-50 yards in any direction anyway, especially from the ground. I will take them when hunting from my tripods where I can usually see farther. If nothing else I enjoy scanning the countryside when things are slow.

I bought my first pair of Binos this year and they are the best hunting investment I've made besides my Safety Harness and Thermacell! I have been able to see deer at distances that I cant see with the Naked eye and I can see if its a buck or doe at a distance I love mines don't go hunting without them now!

Binos when I scout and range finder when I am hunting... I have a Lica range finder that has 7X magnification and it is all I carry for hunting...

They are as necessary as my bow.

Yes, even if I don't use them every hunt I carry a set. As stated above, if I get bored I'll usually just glass for awhile. Even in thick stuff, sometimes the magnification will burn through the vegetation and I can spot and watch deer and/or other game.

Not in many years. Don't need for bowhunting in thick woods. And can use rifle scope when gun hunting. Only time I wished I had them was once last year when I sat on a long field with an open sight rifle. Saw a critter come out at 200+ & couldn't tell if it was a coyote or a cat, but he eventually walked right up and past me - kitty.

Not for bowhunting, but I do for rifle hunting. I only have a 22 yd shot to my feeder at the bow stand so no need for binoculars and they just seem to get in the way.

I actually find by looking through my binoculars in my ground blinds Windows and mesh walls is the only way I can see..otherwise, not as good.

I take them as I would rather have them and not need them, than need them and not have them.
