I arrowed a nice 10 point yesterday morning. My best buck to date, gun or bow.
This buck took probably 25 minutes to come in from where I first spotted movement. He would take a few steps then wait and watch. take a few more steps and watch again. After circling around he finally committed to come in, but he was very cautious. Every sound he spooked but kept trying to come back. Come to find out he was blind in his right eye.
He never made it to the corn, he was about 28 yards away standing in the broomweed when he stopped to offer a shot.
I drew back, anchored by pin and released.
That arrow hit him hard. Square in the shoulder. He took off like a rocket crashing into everything on his way out.
We tracked him for well over 100 yards, probably closer to 150 yards. We could not believe he ran so far, he was spewing blood from both sides and out his mouth, so the blood trail was great, but hard to detect in 3 ft. tall broomweed. The trail came to an end, and there was my buck.
My biggest buck yet and a good Scurry County deer.
