Dialogue of a first bowhunt (with pics)

This is a series of texts between my brother Clint and his 12 year old son, Hunter. Clint bought 19 acres in Normangee this year and got a few feeders running. Hunter was in a lock on in the back of the property and Clint was in a popup at the front. This just happened within the last hour:

    Hunter:

    just shot a hog
    i swear
    omg
i saw it hit but it was high
    he squealed when i hit
    so ik it hit
    it hit high
    but it hit him

i see blood on my arrows feathers from here bc they where yellow and white and now i can see red

there was two and i shot the one in front and he took of into thick brush and i kept listening and he was on a death run just plowing through and then it stopped moving and died is what it sounded like

    Clint:

    Which way did he run?

    straight behind the feeder
    toward back fence
    where he came from
where both of them came from

    From Clint to me:

    15 yards from feeder!

Super excited for both of them. This is the first year for both of them to bowhunt. Love seeing new bowhunters get excited.

I got a leather guy (potters saddlery) who lives out near Normangee.
Last time i passed by his shop, we jumped a BIG 6 pt off the dirt road. Some good deer in that area.

Nice job on the hogs. Keep at em. Plenty more to shoot

Straps on ice so the young man can eat his first bow kill.
