On Monday evening I was fortunate enough to take my first big mature buck with my bow! In the past I've shot a few cull deer but have been passing on a lot of young studs waiting for them to get to their full potential. A good friend of mine filmed me and set me up on this awesome 5 1/2 year old 11 point out in the hill country.
He came out around 6pm with some other bucks while we were hunting in a ground blind and gave me a great shot opportunity at about 20 yards. Double lung pass through and he didn't go 50 yards. Super excited everything came together so early in the season!
