So here's the story...
Last night I watched from the edge of our field a group of deer cross the 100 acre coastal field and enter the neighbors alfalfa field. This afternoon, I found three main trails that they had used. I made a quick ground blind out of brush and got in there at 5:30. At 7:00 I had 3 does and a few fawns walk by at 30 yards. I felt confident I would get a crack at one of the bucks I saw last night. At 7:10 I see this buck 150 yards out coming my way. At 15 yards he's behind some of my brush so I draw back. He stops and does a double take of my little brush hut. He then walks a few more feet into my window and I let it fly! Went through him like butter! He ran 15 yards and started the death dance.
This was my first time to actually make a blind on a trail and to get it done on a nice buck! It's not my biggest but this is probably my proudest accomplishment as a bow hunter!!!
