Comfort Weekend
This weekend we had our annual trip to the Hill Country near Comfort, Texas. I look forward to this trip every year. We always eat too much, sleep too little, and have a ton of fun. Our hosts are over the top with hospitality. The deer hunting is usually pretty good as well. The ranch that we frequent has a large population of whitetails and it is our duty to reduce the numbers. It is a tough job, but I always volunteer. This weekend was extra special as my hunting time has been very limited this year with a new baby and a new business, but I would not trade any of it. I will let the pics show the story of the weekend, but I am already looking forward to next year.
Earlier this season I hunted on a different Ranch and I messed up not one, but two chances at this managment buck I was after in Shackelford County near the Clearfork of the Brazos. I needed this weekend to get my confidence back in my shooting abilities.
On to Comfort.....no gate attendents needed here. Just the magic numbers.

And the nonhuntable part of the herd.
Finally we ventured out and the first afternoon I had plenty of action. I saw upwards of 30 deer and had many shot opportunities. The second doe I attempted to take came in and out of my shooting lane at least 5 times before I was able to get a good shot.
