10 Point Mason Buck

October 6, 2006. My first hunt, on my new lease, just outside of Castell, Texas. After seeing two bucks, this buck skirted the feeder and came right under my hang on stand. My hang on is nestled in a live oak tree at the gate of an ancient German stone catch pen. The buck was making his way through the gate; a 2 1/2 yard shot, straight down, sealed this buck's fate! He is 17 inches inside and roughly scores approximately 115 inches P&Y. What a great first night!

A couple weeks after I took that buck, I got lucky and took a some of photos of a main frame 8 with no brows. He really should have been culled, but I was having so much fun taking pictures...well maybe next year.

I'll always take my camera.....even if I forget my bow.
