I was first smitten with the little "spotted elk" last year when I got a one time chance to Bowhunt them on a friends lease.I think they are a very special trophy and I just loved eveything about it, from the unique roaring sound that lets you know there is mature buck nearby, to the incredible way they taste.
after that I knocked on some doors, and found a small place in prime axis country that had not been commercially hunted, and neither was the adjacent property .
The fact, that I only bowhunted help seal the agreement.
I am hunting now, and took a great buck yesterday at 6 pm as he traveled a rub line and walked up to my natural ground blind where I had sat almost all day,after seeing this buck in the morning at 9 am traveling this same area.
