Right before dark I had this big brute of a boar hog scare my deer away and start vacuuming up my corn. 1st mistake. He made a few laps around the feeder always moving before I could get a shot. He did this for 5 or so minutes and then he stops completely broadside at 18 yards. 2nd mistake. I get the crosshairs of my crossbow lined up behind his ear shooting for his neck bone. I squeeze the trigger and send a missile his way. Thwack! Then I see my lumen nock blow through him and into the brush. I thought he would drop instantly. Nope he ran off. Crap. So after dark I found my bolt and backed out of there. No reason to track an angry and hurt pig in the dark when I cannot have a gun.( lease rules) So I will hunt tomorrow morning and then afterwards i will look for him in the daylight. My thinking is that he is dead within 100 yards if I caught an artery or he is just wounded and will make it. I couldn't find blood at the feeder. What does the green screen think?

Yeah I never found any blood or could find any on his trail. I know I took a very low percentage shot but I didn't want to track him. It was all or nothing in my opinion. In hindsight I would have tried a brain shot, but these pigs never stay still at the feeder. If he makes it great, if not the buzzards, coyotes, and hogs will be happy.
