Tj started hunting about 3 years ago with me. He's harvested 2 doe and a management 7 point to date but this season he went out into the woods with me to make a statement I guess. He was the only one of the 4 of us that got anything. Me and Tracy saw several NICE bucks throughout the year but they all out smarted us and live to see next season. Among the deer that will be around next season 2 ten points (one that would go mid 140s this season), two big 8s that were both low 110s, a nine in the 120s and a 3.5yo 12 pt that was about 130 class this season. My heart is already pounding thinking of what all of these will become next year.
But this story is about my youngest, TJ. He started off the season by putting a big mature doe on ice. Then moved on to taking care of our varmints and shot a beatiful femal bobcat that is getting mounted. and then wrapped up our season with a nice 11 point (7x4). He was excited about it. He brought in the new year with this buck today and also happens to be the last day that we will be able to hunt. So he laid down the law and proved to me he has the paitence to get it done. He stuck with it all season long and passed on several young deer that were legal and made that call on his own. I left the decision up to him (I would have swayed his mind if he made the wrong decsion, but didn't tell him that) and he took this one today after a long season.
